I admit I have never taken a Gear reducer off of a Engine. But I don't think you sprayed as much liquid Fertilizer as we do here in Fla. Inland Counties have no Fertilizer restrictions like the Coastal Counties. Therefore All Liquid programs are still very popular.
You may think Nitrogen is corrosive which it is. But compared to Sulfated Potash it isn't nothing. Add in our 90% humidity in July & August and we have an equipment corrosion Problem.
