Looks like my guys got it good !!!!
we do the same - 50/50 split. but i basically have the guys pay for their share in the months where they are working. this way their balance owed for their share ends up around 0 in november when we are done working. in my opinion, you don't want to be "floating" employee share insurance costs because if someone quits/fired, etc, you are still on the hook for their portion.
