I do each phase with a different piece of equipment, makes for alot better coverage, and alot better looking lawn after the seed has taken. I have tried using a verticutter w/ seeder and the lawn came out with stripes of seed about 2 inches apart running the whole lawn. Which then forced me to REDO the whole thing resulting in about 4 hours of wasted time. So because of that i spend the extra time to walk the lawn again with a broadcast spreader and do all the seeding myself
