I still have a Scag with a kawi engine on it, mine is a 17hp what looks exactly like that one. Its a great engine and never really bogged out at all. Also I had a older toro poroline with a 44in deck and to me it cut was better than the scag.
Though the down side to that proline is that its slower then the scag, belts like to slip when you kick moisture from the grass, it doesn't like to be on steep hillsides. Also if you ever put a sulky on it the front end of my 44in would like leave the ground easily, might be different with a 52in having more weight up front, and the drive tires are tiny.
But for that price it would be nice to get you going, and save up to by a better machine and just slide that into a back up position.
