"Contractors" doing work as described are your best sales tool. Take pics of his progress and finished product (preferably without him in them). Keep it in your sales kit for your "can you beat this bid"? When someone try's to beat your price up, ask them: which steps do you want me to skip?
P.S. I couldn't drive with all that on the dash.
