In my case the cutting decks were identical. Had the Velocity Plus 52" on both the fixed and floating deck SCAG. With the fixed deck you scalp on uneven terrain and if the wheels hop there are stragglers everywhere. With the floating deck the cut remains even no matter what the wheels do and the rollers on the back of the deck contour the ground so the grass is cut perfectly even.
