D Tom, That was my theory back in 88 when I first tryed it on my JD 50&quot;. It made it harder to sharpen them for one thing and I was mowing an empty lot and hit a rock and the blade broke off where the weld was. It will weaken them. I'm just glad it didn't happen around people and I was very lucky. Take it from me, Don't Weld them. It is so rare that they move. All you have to do is loosen the bolt and adjust them.
