In most cases the gator blades are intended to be used while side discharging. They still produce a finer clipping than a straight blade, they just done have to pulverize the clippings as in a plugged mulching system. In a nutshell, try discharging with them. And you can probably get some forward pitch by playing with the air pressure in the tires.

And if you can mulch in about 15 minutes, discharging should take 10-12.
