Alligator attacks landscaper at Orlando International Airport
Worker suffers 4- to 5-inch laceration

ORLANDO, Fla. —A landscaper at Orlando International Airport was attacked by an 8-foot alligator while working near a lake Wednesday.

Philip Brian Letner, 50, was weed whacking near Cargo Road just south of the State Road 528 exit about 11 a.m. when the alligator attacked his leg.

Another worker came to help and the alligator went back into the lake.

Letner had a 4- to 5-inch laceration and was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he got stitches.

Airport staff caught the gator and it will be killed.

If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.
