I've serviced a chitload of em' that were used commercially on a daily basis by peyote chewin' mexicanos, and none of the inner filters really needed to be replaced.
Wow, then I feel genuinely ripped off with my Kaw KAI's air filtration system...at least superficially. All I've got is a paper element with a foam pre-filter. I would think a backfire through the carb might just blow a hole through the paper. Though, I can't say I've ever experienced/heard(?) one of these. Have only 'heard' maybe a handful of actual backfires through the exhaust in 2 mowers over 6 years.
So.....is this Kaw KAI air filter system substandard?
