So you're asking about rebar (which is a reasonable question), and someone is spouting off about "grounding". I have NEVER seen rebar used in grounding. Drakeslayer - is that a Pennsylvania thing?

xtreem3d was initially referring to rebar that is used to reinforce the concrete. Because the topic was about cutting concrete. Maybe I'm wrong. Am I correct?? Rebar used as reinforcement acts as a skeleton for a concrete slab.

We just finished working with an old pool deck this week that had NO rebar and no Wire reinforcing the concrete.

However - most pool decks do have rebar and wire reinforcement.

And yes - the topic of "GROUNDING" is important. Because many contractors will rip out old concrete decking and install pavers.
