Cool-season grasses utilize the most N in the Fall for getting ready for Winter... 46-0-0 is typically sold as slow release and I don't think those pellets should still be intact when snow comes... I believe that a pound of N per k being utilized before dormancy is what is required...
Here in Centro Wisco we are already past the time of useable fertilizer for this season...
Now that I know that clay's texture(platelets) has nothing to do with water infiltration, percolation, or drainage
