I'll take used all day long. I'm solo, but have a few 1099 guys during the busy spring and summer months

I can't justify abuse of a brand new $40k plus truck. I mainly work on foreclosures and REO houses and the stuff I have to haul away would make some people cringe. Besides that, I put about 35-40k on my trucks every year.

The biggest drawback to buying new is that due to the high amount of travel I do I usually section 179 my vehicle purchases. New for 2014 unless the government decides that it is important enough, the section 179 deduction will max out at 25k (already the limit for section 179 in PA) So I will have to limit my reinvestment in my business, not just for vehicles, but equipment as well.
