Seeing that your in Michigan I guess your not used to Zoysia. lol It's just waking up for the year, but as you can see from the second picture from the bottom in the middle of the summer, it's an awesome looking grass, very lush and soft and the kids love it. It can be 110+ out here and the last year I could go 10+ days without water and still have the only green lawn on the block under water restrictions. As for why so short, it grows much thicker, similar to Baramuda. Zoysia and Baramuda is what's used on our fairways.
