To anybody that's planting leyland cypress 6' apart in hedges - if so, you are causing a problem that will exceed the Port Orford cedar situation in the Pacific NW.
This is a lady's tree in Aloha, Oregon. Planted 21 years ago. You can't see it, but we measured the canopy at 45 feet wide, and my son is measuring here - it's a 30" diameter trunk.
It took 2 hours to limb it up to just that 8' or so and clean up.
