Zt1842

I test rode a ZT1842 residential today, and it seemed pretty smooth until i engaged the pto. Then it started vibrating rather bad. I increased the throttle from 3/4 to full, and it smoothed a little, but not much. I asked the salesman if the blades could be off balance, and he said he didnt think so. But he said there has been problems with belt breakage on the 42" decks, And might have somthing to do with it. I was wondering if this vibration is normal on this model, or does anyone have any thoughts? thanks

Vibration on ZT1742

It sounds like you tested a unit that has a bad pto belt. I understand there is another belt available that reduces the vibration. The dealer should have a bulletin on this and should have the belt replaced under warranty. The 1742 is a very good unit and does give a very good quality of cut.

Are you planning to use this unit for commercial purposes?

Just as an FYI, It is designed for homeowner use where the average yearly hours is less than 75.

I hope I have answered your questions.
