Grass Catcher for 48" Hustler FasTrak SD
My dealer ordered the smaller version of your grass catcher for my new 48" Hustler FasTrak SD, and wonder it clears the back wheels/tires or if it needs a special kit to extend it outward. Thanks.

What was the part number for the catcher?

Thanks for your fast response Peter. Not sure about the Part Number. I spoke to a feller named Damon at Accelerator couple of days ago - I think he said it is GCST (?). I would check with my Hustler dealer who ordered and will install the catcher, they are not sure since this will be their first Accelerator catcher experience... and hopefully not their last. Thanks

If Damon gave you the part number, the tire clearance should be fine. Actually, all of our catchers have a good deal of tire clearance. Some mowers have an extreme amount of tire overrun, however, and need a special "kick out" bracket to clear. Our catchers always has the needed bracket included.

Thanks Peter - The Mower dealer contacted Damon, so I assume all of that was discussed and will turn out OK. I appreciate your response.

That looks super good on the Sport...I think that's the mower I should have bought, for the size of my yard

My new ride, 48" Hustler FasTrak SD, with the Accelerator catcher, was finally delivered yesterday. I must say, I'm impressed at the ease of installation and removal - I bet I can do it in one second flat for each action. I was surprised about its weight, though - not feather-weight, at least not for this Oldfella. I may have to fill it half way in order for me to handle it. I am happy nonetheless with my decision to go with the Accelerator catcher instead of the bagger unit, as I often opt for mowing without catching the clippings. Besides, with the Accelerator unit I can get a clear view of the right side and rear of the mower.

Thanks for the nice comments. We do use a fair amount of metal in this catcher, as they can take pretty hard use. They are still a lot lighter than a steel unit!

Mowed with the Accelerator grass catcher for the first time, it worked great, just a bit heavy for this Oldfella. The gator blades did an excellent job packing the clippings in the bagger, without front blow out - actually, I see no need to stagger the various types of blades; no need to install a high-lift at the catcher side for good push-&-pack effect. I recommend this catcher for younger, stronger folks (younger than 91). What I did do, and recommend - to prevent hitting objects with the catcher and lessen the cutting time, is making couple of pases around the property blowing the clipings to the inside of the property - this will also give you mower turning radius space. Have fun, I do.
