Dixie Chopper info request/ buying a ztr this weekend
Alright guys, I've found a great deal on a leftover 08 DC Xcaliber. Please give me any feedback you have for the mower. I was considering a Snapper Pro S200x.
What I've heard is that the Dixie Chopper is very heavy and won't hold hills too well. Please provide any insight you may have. And Thank you very much. |

I bought a new Xcaliber 3366 during the winter and love it so far. It doesn't hold hills as good as my Super Z, but it cuts and discharges excellent. I was never a big fan of the Dixie Choppers until I tried one out. I am actually looking at buying another one next month.

I have ran many Dixies and they are great mowers and the Excalibur is a great mower the deck is a tunnel type that leaves the clippings a little longer but leaves a great cut without clumps. They hold a hill great but you may feel a bit uncomfortable but it will hold very well.

I don't find them any heavier than any other well built mower. Despite some rumors that Dixies are only a rough cut mower they are very much capable of providing a well manicured cut.

BTW, in the second pic there is a whole lot of a huge mess in the right hand side of the pic. That's the next door neighbor's yard. He would like to obtain the same results that I got for my customer but he doesn't want to pay me to do it. "You're too expensive" he says. He tries to get me to tell him what I've done but I won't fess up. He had put something on his yard about a week ago (I took the pics yesterday) and it killed about 1/2 of what little grass he had.

One thing I hear about them a lot even from the dealers that sell them is "They are more like a go-cart then a lawn mower, and they will be in the shop a lot"
I don't have any experience with them, so the guys who have owned them are probably saver words to go buy.
