SRS Deck ?

I have a 62" deck on my Z mower. There are 2 adjustable plates across the front of the deck. Can someone explain the purpose for these plates? I mow on 4" setting and use a Peco bagging system. Thanks.

Gee guys I know I had a typo in the title, meant SFS deck but 26 views and no replies. I would have at least thought The Toro Company could offer some insight. What gives????
