What trimmer do you guys use

Ive used sthil, echo, red max, honda, and maruyama and I by far like stihl the best, easiest to use, most comfortable, and most powerful, only drawback is i dont like the cap system. jmo

Hey DLC. Not sure what model/year your Stihl trimmers are, however their latest trimmers from 2011 and onward have redesigned caps that fix the pesky locking mechanism that were problematic with their legacy units (assuming that's the cap issue you speak of). Stihl also had a recall of all Stihl models that used that toolless cap design (trimmers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, etc) and the newly redesigned cap seems to have resolved this problem.

i use echo 280S for line trimming and 400u for clearing. and fs55 for backups.
the echos are heavy units but i and the boys are used to it. I know the 280S out preforms the FS95 anyday (my buddy uses them for his bussiness) but im not sure if there even in the same spec catagory. i have noticed also from a 280, fs55 comparistion that the 280 is more forgiven with taller operators seems like the angle is different and you don't have to strain so much to get a even cut. I happen to be 6' 2"
