Walker 36'' for Exmark 52'' trade HELP???

I have a exmark 52'' and thinking about trading for a small ztr. Im talking to a guy about a even trade for a 2005 walker mb 18hp vanguard with tilt up 36'' mulching deck and 140hrs. Deck is 3 months old. For my 2003 exmark lazer z 52'' with mulch kit, 2500hrs on mower. 250hrs+ on hydros and motor(27hp kohler). I really need a small mower for several yards ive picked that have small gates(3ft+) and just dont have the cash. Does this sound like adeal? never really ran a walker mower. What is his walker worth. Thanks

Walkers are great for what they are meant to do. I you could get you a 42"or 48" side discharge deck to go along with the mulch deck then you would have you a great setup for your area. The downfall to that Walker with just the mulching deck is going to be speed. If you get some over grown areas that mulching deck is going to stink and if you get behind on the Bermuda then it is going to take awhile to cut. The Walker will give you a great cut on the normal times. If most of your stuff is under 20k sq ft that Walker with the two decks would be great.

Do you miss the Quick 36 I bought from you yet? I am loving it for my small areas.

I do not really know what the model "B"s are bringing. I will take a guess with those hours 3,500-5,500. I think the 05 models had a electric clutch and on the newer ones they went back to the manual clutch. The problem I think they were having with the electric clutch was the initial load if engaged in heavy grass or RPM's too high would snap the shear pin. You might want to measure the width of the deck. For some reason I am thinking the new style mulching decks are much larger than the actual cut. If you do have some 36" gates it might not fit.
