Wireless Invisible Dog Fence Flags

I got quite a surprise today when I showed up to mow one of my regular accounts, the last one of a long day. White flags everywhere! I've dealt with white training flags for buried invisible dog fences before and usually they're in a straight line, so although it's a bit of a pain, they can be dealt with.

Well apparently they got the wireless invisible fence because the flags are in a circle across the whole lawn about 50 feet from the house. I didn't count them but there has to be at least 50 of them about 6 feet apart. This is a good sized lawn, probably about an acre of turf, nicely striped. I got a pretty good chuckle out of it but couldn't for the life of me figure out how to mow this lawn with the flags in place other than mowing "tractor-style" in a circle and I'd really hate to do that. I rang the door bell but nobody was home. I left and found another lawn to mow!

Yeah....well....like....how do I know where to put them? I was thinking of using white marking paint to mark their locations before I pull them.

wouldnt the paint disappear when you cut the grass

I would do the fastest method. Mow with the flags. Circle stripes actually look pretty good. Try it out.

They should only need to be there but a few weeks. Just cut around them until they can be removed. That's what I did. I wouldn't even trim anything close to them, just leave it longer near the flags. It's only going to be a few weeks and then they can be removed.

I'm confused. You said you left and found another lawn to mow. You didn't bother to do a scheduled lawn? Wouldn't that throw your schedule off?

I hate these fences. It puts a big kink in the aeration business because they usually just bury that wire an inch or two undeer the lawn and my Classen has a tendancy to shread these things if the customer doesn't tell me about them. I always ask now.

I went back and mowed it yesterday. I brought a can of white marking paint, marked the locations, pulled them up, mowed and put them back. I left some of them near the edges. I put them back while I was trimming so it didn't take long. Now that I have the locations marked it should go pretty quick next week.

i've seen those things in yards and i'm like that sux...who in their right mind would want all of those little flags in their yard?.....it just looks dumb and they are in the way of mowing...i've never had to mow a yard with them in it but i can imagine how much of a pain it would be...just mow like normal and then weave in and out of them i guess lol
