Smell of FF on warm engine?

I sprayed a little around some bolts for things like the alternator on my engine (truck). When Fluid Film is warm/hot on an engine, does it have a smell similar to that of antifreeze? I could have sworn I smelled a coolant leak, but I looked around and see no leaks at all...but then I remembered I sprayed that FF and I was wondering if this could be what I'm smelling?

Fluid Film smells more like sheep or burnt apples. It's the woolwax in the product that makes it smell different. You don't get that heavy chemical smell.

So you don't think there's any possibility that this sweet smell I'm smelling is the FF? To me FF has a sort of sweet smell right out of the can so I was thinking maybe this is what I smell and not a coolant leak.

Could be, but the smell shouldn't linger for too long. If you are still smelling it I think it may be something else.

i can't say as i've ever known it to smell like antifreeze, not even when it's burning off the exhaust lol

Have you lost any coolant? If not then that leaves only what you have added to the equation, the FF.

I've been checking under the truck, in the engine bay and the coolant level. I don't see any indication that there's a coolant leak...unless it's very small and in a spot where I can't actually see it. I'll just keep an eye on it and see what happens.

have you checked the oil to make sure there's no signs of collant mixed in due to a head gasket goin bad? do you happen to only smell it when the heat is on? maybe the heater core is going bad?
