Hardscaping Hacks - Pics

So I have been driving around alot and I am seeing some pretty shotty work. And this is what they leave on the surface, who knows whats underneath.

Anyway I haven't seen a Hacks thread for Hardscape/install stuff so I though I would get one going. If there is please direct me to it i am always looking for more laughs.

Here's a nice wall job to get things started.

Here's how I see this conversation going.....

Homeowner: I need some new steps
Contractor: ok well based on the height and steps available you will need 3 steps
HO: How much is three steps?
C: They are $500 per step
HO; I can't afford that, can't you get away with 2 steps?
C: Sorry its 3 Steps
H: Fine I will do it on my own.....stupid contractor thinking I need 3 steps.

if that's anything like around here it's a shoddy contractor trying to throw a cookie cutter house together for the lowest sq. ft. per $ possible. "Oh ya.... we can save $500 over 20 houses if we leave out one step..."

That wouldnt look terribe if it wasnt for the section of pavers holding everything up. Not to mention you have to step up to the step up lol

The workmanship in the 1st picture is pitiful. The 2nd picture could get whoever built that sued. It would be easy to break a ankle on those step's.
