walker Mtefi 26 h gas ghs oil seal

Hey I have searched a found a thread about replacing bottom oil seal but my machine wasn't the same. when I took off the blades there are two bolts mounting the gearbox to the deck not three. Are these the ones i remove. I would really appreciate a step by step as I don't wont to screw anything up. Any help would be great.

Are your boxes aluminium or cast iron. The aluminium one have 3 small screws that hold a metal plate that covers the oil seal.. I have not had to replace a seal in a cast iron box yet but I think that seal is held in with a snap ring. I will have to check when I get to work.

yeah I think it is a snap ring. Thanks for the reply. so i am not taking the gearbox off the deck i am just removing the snap ring. the the oil seal cover plate. then the oil seal itself. What is the best way to get the old seal out. I mean is it a mother or will it just ease on out. I read on here it's pretty easy to bugger up putting the new one on. Thanks again for the help
