Repair or Replace?
I have a 2004 Hustler FasTrak (serial #02117233) with an 18hp Honda engine. When it was new I mowed 10 acres and now I only mow 4 acres and cut paths through the rest. It’s had a hard life mowing around fence posts, sometimes doubling as a bushhoog, mowing over bumpy, hilly grass and yes, getting stuck in wet areas. The hydraulics/transmission on the right side is shot. I can mow for about 45 minutes and then it needs to cool down. I really like this mower but is it worth fixing? Is it likely the other side will go soon, or the engine?

Actually the unit is a 2002 according to the serial #.
I am guessing there is still plenty of life in the engine and the unit itself, the hydro's though may need servicing, if they have a internal filter its a good time to replace them now. If they don't, and its possible, it may be time to replace them, you would have to get that pricing from your dealer and make the decision, but I am sure it will be less expensive than buying a comparable new unit today. Thanks for responding. How long do you think the hydraulics on the other side are good for? Or is there now way of knowing? That would probably determine if I get it fixed. Interesting to find out it is a 2002 model. I bought it new from a dealer in 2004 with no indication it was 2 years old.

I am sure it was new when you bought it, it was just the unit was built in November of 2002. Pj
