customer complaints

I have a few customers i spray for that call everytime they get a bill. They say there is no "evidance" i was there. Va does not require a yard sign i do not use them yet. I do leave a card on the door but most use there garage and never see it. All the callers say the yard looks good but cant get over they cant yell i was there. How do yall with an all liquid program deal with this. I think im going to have to get markers.

I have taken some older business cards of mine and used a hole punch to install a hole in the corner of each card. I then take a rubber band and attach it to the card hole. I can then place these on door knobs, door handles, garage code bars,etc. The date, time is written on the card.
Other than this, you can print up some inexpensive paper door cards for when you apply your rounds.

That was sometimes our problem,we don't see any weeds ,but not sure if you were here or not. Can't find the YouTube video. they had a lawn care guy ghosting a yard and got caught on camera .

If they don't have any weeds then you were there doing your job, if weeds are present then I could see the need for concern. Maybe use some of the Adeas products that have the rubber band hanger. Have business information and an area that you can write property notes on for the customer.

Get the clear plastic bags designed for the purpose...of holding the invoice, envelope and information sheet (maybe the newsletter for that round). They fit over the doorknob and stay in place nicely. After a few days you will discover ways to tie them to screen door loop handles, or lever handles. Keep some rubber bands in your pocket for the more difficult situations. And make sure you invoice is BIG--at least a full 8.5 by 11 sheet. Use zip ties if you have to.

And lawn marker signs are a fine idea--since they are a cautionary warning--and can be a form of yard sign advertising. Probably would pay for themselves.

I slip the Invoice between the weather stripping of the front door just above the door knob. Most times I can work it in far enough it can't be pull out from the out side. I have been doing that for 7 years now and I haven't had the YOU WEREN'T HERE thing since I started invoiceing at time of service.

Hate to say it but I have witnessed a fert company (won't put names on this forum) twice pulling up to two yards and placing the sign in the yard and driving away. NO work was done and no inspection took place. I have also seen a "reputable" bug company guy do the same thing. These dead beats make us all look bad. Can you really blame the customer????

I would get some yard flags from blackburn... 1,000 flags 69.00 with your logo, number, and neon..... Would solve your problem and could get you more business to the next door... We are not required to use them also but I have received many new customers when they say I saw your flags all over so I decided to call you... It also looks cool when you look down the block and see purple "mine are purple" flags all over.

Lots of good replies. I used to have customers feel the same way, even after yard signs and heavily noted invoices. They felt if they could not see or smell something. I must have flagged & tagged only. These customers would then receive a nice dose of acephate (when legal) after my app. Some around the mailbox. Some around the front door. That cleared that! I was definitely there and most definitely treated.

Thats what i feel like i would have to do turf. Im looking in to flags for next year. I mail all invoices i could see how ppl would say they were lost.
