has anyone been able to separte a grigi ( grear reduction) unit from a worn out engine? I have been told that it is impossible but i am a firm believer that nothing is impossible unless u are a loser. I will attempt to separte them this weekend but they told me i cant get them apart. Any truthful answers?

I believe the main problem is getting a hold of the parts to be separated.

You might try a Auto Body repair company that has a hydraulic press for straighting Body Parts. But the problem is breaking the Cast aluminum casing of the Gear Drive. Therefore it might be wiser to take the Gear drive apart and hook directly to the Crank shaft with the Hydraulic press. BTW A Body Shops should have a Frame straighting Machine that can be hooked to the Engine and the Gear Drive Crank Shaft.

False. They come apart without much trouble. Or maybe I was just lucky. I had a few problems mateing the new shaft and the key and lining them up perfectly so they would go back together. Installed a new 6 hp Briggs with my GRG1 252. Ran fine.

I admit I have never taken a Gear reducer off of a Engine. But I don't think you sprayed as much liquid Fertilizer as we do here in Fla. Inland Counties have no Fertilizer restrictions like the Coastal Counties. Therefore All Liquid programs are still very popular.

You may think Nitrogen is corrosive which it is. But compared to Sulfated Potash it isn't nothing. Add in our 90% humidity in July & August and we have an equipment corrosion Problem.
