48 inch vs 52

Before I go out there in cash spending land was wondering is there any advantage over the 48 or 52. Would one be more productive? Would One be more useful?

I mainly run 52's over 48's because they are bigger, not by much but try are. After overlap, you still get a true 48" cut. A lot of companies though will run 48's due to gates. Majority of my properties do not have gates but the ones that do, have 32" gate openings so I squeeze my 32" cut for them. Between the 48 & 52, you are not goin to notice a large difference. It mainly comes down to wether or not you have gated back yards. Hope that helps.

48 walk behind will fit in a truck. I have both a 48 walk behind and a 52 rider and the 48 fits in a lot of places that the 52 does not. It seems that a lot of spaces between landscaping features are 4 feet apart. Either one should be fine though...hard to make a convincing arguement for one or the other.

I don't run any large than 48. All my accounts are less than 5k of actual turf. PVC fencing is now the standard and usually come 48 gates which I can just squeeze through with a blocker plate on.

I carry a 21" push mower, 36" walk behind, a 48" walk behind, and a 56" zero turn. they all have their advantages i can say that i use each one every day. the 21" mostly on ditches and steep slopes that the walk behind cant do. the 36" for gated areas, it seems most places here use a 36-42" gate. the 48" for hills that the zero wont hold, and over curbed areas. and the 56" for all the other areas. My father has 2 48" zero turns and the big complaint about them is that the deck does not stick out past the wheels making going around trees and such i little bit of a pain. that made my decision to buy a larger zero when i bought mine. He is currently in the market for a 52-56" zero or 2
