buying urea in bulk

I have been thinking about buying urea in bulk price would be right I know I may have some trash issues but I screen everything twice before it would hit the intake at the bottom of the tank. This would be from a farm store by the ton. I was going to add hydrexx or stay N. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or experience.

What kind of urea is this. There is regular urea, feed urea, and low biuret urea. Low biuret urea is what you want for fertilizing grass. I do not always have a choice as to how clean dry raw materials are, so several stages of filters are good.

Wouldn't you have to worry about that material absorbing moisture and becoming brick-like if it has to sit around for a while ?

agro. I can get it in as small as 250lb at a time. I will check to see what type it is it will be from a southern states.

How would it be delivered or picked up? Dumped on your floor? Pallet boxes? Dumped into your pickup box with a front-end loader?
Agrostis is right. After a few days of high humidity--it will probably absorb moisture and become hard as bricks.
Do you plan to spread it or dissolve in water? How are you going to measure it so you get 150 pounds per tank--or whatever your mixture calls for?
Perhaps best to have the urea elevated to a big plastic tank on the second floor. Open a valve onto a bucket on a scales to weigh the correct amount. Then tip the bucket into your tank and add water. Truck must drive under the bucket.
Good filters inside the tank are important...as is the ability to clean out the trash periodically.

Seems like you are better off making up your own concentrated urea solution and dispensing the filtered mix into your spray tanks.

Does anyone mix their urea in a holding tank before pumping it into their spray turck. If so how.

I hot weather the urea solution gives off a lot of ammonia fumes. I suspect that the solution is broken down by bacteria which release the nitrogen as ammonia.

What product name and source do you obtain this low biuret nitrogen from.
The urea product in bulk here goes directly to the fields........with agrotain added. I get my liquid vessels from old agrotain containers.
