Aluminum Equipment trailer
Has anyone owned an aluminum equipment trailer ? Eby makes a 14k trailer that is really nice looing and only weighs 2300# . Just not sure about having the aluminum deck instead of wood.

That makes them easier to steal and more valuable for scrap prices.

Not really worried about theft our equipment is never left on site and our shop is very well protected

What's the deck made out of?
I've got a trailer with a rollback bed that has extruded aluminum snapped together/welded to the rails for the deck. Have no complaints about it....very tough. Good traction when wet. Wet dirt tends to stick to it when dumping but always comes off at full tilt and some brake stomping in reverse. Also have some 4x10' diamond plate T6063 1/4" aluminum sheets that I picked up on Craigslist for cheap....that stuff is tough too! I'd choose an aluminum deck over a wood deck for equipment hauling any day. |

They can keep it. Too much for a trailer.

If you figure in the fact that it weighs just over half of the steel trailers that keeps you closer to 10 k with a skid in tow and you southern guys dont have to deal with the rust problems we have .
