I just saw their new 30" mower and sitting atop this monstrosity was the same Kaw. they put on the 21".
This mower will not have enough horses to mulch and barely enough to bag anything but the lightest growth. Luckily, I just picked up a Special Edition 19hp 36" Turf Tracer and still have a 32" Viking. Bring back the 32" Viking |

well I can't entirely speak for the exmark 21. but my toro 21 has the kawi engine on it and it goes through some pretty thick stuff just fine without ever skipping a beat.

That motor does seem a little weak for a 30".... I still think you need a full WB for 30 and larger

The belt is always tight, not a belt slip drive. It has a clutch inside the tranny

Im pretty sure the reason they did it was because there is nothing else to put on it. The next step up for Kawasaki is to a FS481V which is way too big/heavy for that mower.
Same thing with other manufacturers in vertical shaft engines. They jump from a 170-200cc product up to a 340cc or larger which is just too big/heavy for that machine. I think the perfect engine would have been the old Kawasaki FC290V although that might even be too heavy. |

Turf Tracer
Thanks for your interest in the new Commercial 30 walk mower. Interestingly, we use a timed blade system to effectively reduce horsepower consumption commonly associated with twin or triple blade decks. You’ll be amazed if you demo this unit in the ability to perform in demanding conditions. The blades more effectively cut and move the grass than is the case with the untimed blades on other decks. We believe the FJ180 KAI spec Kawasaki is the right power to weight ratio as well to make this an incredibly nimble unit. Also, for deeper grass conditions, the available side discharge option further reduces horsepower needs as compared to mulching or bagging. Still, we certainly can’t fault anyone who picks a Viking or Turf Tracer for their needs! Thanks for your interest. We encourage everyone to ask their dealer for a demo. Seeing is believing! |

Thanks for the reply eXmark.
Why not just bring back the 32" Viking w/15hp Kaw. and its GAME OVER in the Small Lawn Small Gate Mower Competition® . The 32" Viking was the Perfect Small Lawn Small Gate Mower® This year I ended up with a 36" Tracer with 19hp Kaw...Wanted the Viking!! |

purhaps because some of us have gated backyards where even a 32" wouldn't fit. I have several backyards where I have to use a 21 incher in the backyard.
