cat 232 oil change

Going to do my first oil/oil filter and fuel/air filter change on the used skid I bought. What oil/weight (non-cat brand) should I use? Any additives anyone suggests? I live in NJ for weather type. I ordered the filters they are cat brand.

I was a Caterpillar service tech for 5 years and we always used the Cat deo 15-40 down here in the south.

The Cat dealership up here recommends 10w 30. We use 5-40 synthetic now, but before we switched to synthetic we ran 10-30 rotella.
