Metro 21 BBC

I have a Exmark Metro 21 that acts like the BBC is slipping. When I get into even moderately thick or high grass, the blade starts slowing and quits cutting, even with a freshly sharpened blade. The manual has nothing about raplacement parts or an adjustment on the clutch, other than the brake cable.

Is there a way to adjust the clutch? Or do I just need to buy new clutch parts? Haven't taken it apart yet, but the manual doesn't cover this portion. I'm assuming they would rather you take it to an authorized mechanic.

Any ideas?

TIA!

You didn't specify a serial number but here's a link to a Metro with blade clutch. It's very similar to the old Toro blade clutch. Check the condition of the belt and you should be able to make an adjustment in the cable to increase pressure on the belt.

Thanks, and here's an update...

Exmark part No. 100-6486 blade belt equates to Napa 3L340W (3/8" X 34")

Exmark part No. 1-213237 drive belt equates to Napa 4L240W (1/2'" X 24")
