X one fuel cap problems

Purchased a new 2013 X ONE Hustler Mower and find the fuel caps can be cross threaded very easy. Was wondering if anyone else has that problem. The caps on our 2010 Super Z work fine and you can spin them on in a second. I was wondering if I cut the cord attached to the cap and bought 2 caps that are on the 2010 model.

There was a service bulletin on the first non-vented caps but I'm thinking your new unit is outside that Bulletin. Do not install a vented cap on a new EPA compliant machine. Your new machine has a vent on top of your tank to burn off the hydrocarbons. I don't know what effect the vented caps will have but you are changing things you shouldn't. Watch out for heavy additives in the fuel you are buying.

Heavy in alcohol and ethanol. Your eyes burn from the fumes at some of those cheap gas stations. In order to raise the octane they throw more of the fillers in it. A member in Florida spoke of a station that still sells 100% gasoline. I've forgotten what that smells like..
Alcohol and ethanol burn hotter with less BTU's and really mess up rubber and plastic.
