Looking For Phone Solution

Hello, I'm looking for a solution to my phone problem. I have a cell phone with a number that I've had for well over a decade. It's not a local number in the town I live and work out of. I've lived here for 7 years, so for my business I have a land line. Then I forward that land line to my cell phone. It is just used for the local access number.

My question, has anyone else done this and is there a cheaper solution. Currently I have Vonage as my phone provider. I think I still pay $20 a month. Yes I know changing my cell phone number would solve the problem, but I'm not viewing that as an option.

Thanks for you help.

Use Google Voice. Its free. You can download the app on your phone and that enables you to return calls from your cell phone and it appears to your client as though you are calling from your business line.

Don't always work!

This option doesn't always work! Neither a new number is available in my area (not a major metropolitan area) and the options for using my existing cell phone number are limited also.

Let him try...maybe it'll work for him then it won't matter that it didn't work for you.

We use Grasshopper and love it. Calls go through to a local number, the way mine is set is that the caller hears a menu af different options, ie press 1 for irrigation, 2 for fertilizing, and so on. All the voice mails show up in an app and can be listened to on any phone or on a computer. There are also extensions that will forward a call directly to my cell or to other specified employee. You can port any number you currently have over to them and keep it or you can get a local number through them. One of the things I really like is their voice studio, you can listen to samples of voice over actors and pay to have one record you incoming messages.
Why do people not respect us as they do other tradesmen? Because every Tom, Dick, and Harry doesn't think he can be a plumber or electrician!

Get ahold of me. I have a cheaper version of Grasshopper. You get a business line that gets forwarded to your phone.
All business calls will dial once and if you miss the call, dual you again- or your wife's phone or landline.

When you answer the call you will get an option to accept the call or send it to voicemail.

I've been trying to get a google voice number for a few weeks now. No luck. Debating if it's worth waiting or just get a landline and have it forwarded to my cell. I have comcast. Any of you guys that are using google voice see any benefits over a landline except for the price?
