customer portal on web site?

I am getting ready to sign a contract with Real Green and have indecision about their "Customer Assistant". It would be nice to have but I am having a hard time justifying the expense for a smaller business. Any opinions or experience is appreciated.

Clip has been around since mid 90s and has a customer portal which can be used to schedule new work etc.
