you wont get anything brand new unless youre looking at a 30", I assumed when you said walk behind you meant a full fledged walkbehind with big rear tires, pistol grips and castor wheels. Youd have to search online local ads for something used if you wanted a walk behind, otherwise, go brand new with a commercial 30" toro or exmark.

What ztr did you get for 8k?

Get on Craigslist with that budget you should have no problem getting a scag or ex mark belt drive walk behind I wouldn't buy a hydro for that much money I would question it's reliability

I have a belt drive with the jungle Jims sulky and I step off and walk behind the sulky when I'm on hills it's easier to control that way and less stress on the machine when going up hills
