Motor Surging Problem
Been having trouble with my Briggs & Straton 3.5 HP lawn mower motor and surging. Lately, mower will only run with rythmic surging and all speeds. Sometimes dies under heavier load.
I am suspecting carb issues such as varnish build-up. Mower is three years old and is used all year round (Hawaii). Any ideas on a fix? Thanks in advance. Gabby |

Check to make sure the govenor is working properly and doesn't have a lot of grass built up around it and be sure all the springs are in good condition. If the govenor seems ok then clean the carburetor.

Sounds like the diaphram in the car is bad, if its a quantum engine you need a 495770 carb kit, less than ten buck, and very simple to replace. Just make sure that you see whitch gasket geos on top. Hopes this helps, let us know if we helped. later
