Got a 2 year old wacker, never used, won't start..
I picked up a brand new wacker 1550 off a guy that bought it 2 years ago and NEVER used it. I got it for a steal. It just won't start. It has not been started in 2 years. What do you recomend me doing. Changing the plug? Draining the carb and all the gas?
Thanks Matt |

Matt Gas will go stale in a lot less time than two years. You might want to clean the carb also as well as chance the plug. First thing to check is the spark.

Clean the fuel system, check for spark, if need be, rebuild the carb, and put fresh fuel in.

A steal to the buyer is usually a relief for the seller. There's a reason it hasn't been used in a two years. If it had gas in it for two years and not used, the seller couldn't get it started either.
Check the usual--Gas, air and spark. |
