Seal Coating ??

Could someone here tell a dumb BRIT [limey] what the heck seal coating is ?? do you only seal asphalt and tar macadam drives ??? what is the product called you use??

I obviously know the basics of this service but thats about it!! for some reason we do not seem to do seal coating over here although lots of home owners etc do have tarmac or asphalt drives etc etc and of course we have lots of asphalt parking lots !!

Sealcoat is either a coal tar emulsion or an asphalt emulsion . It protects and and restores the black color to asphalt or macadam. Do a search on the web and there are pleanty of websites from companies that explain it in depth.
