I know I've been bashing Kohler a little but the decision is drawing near. Does anyone currently run Kohlers EFI 26hp engine? If so what are your experiences with it. I know it has all the automotive diagnostics. It is now in its second year. Have any of you gents that are mechanics seen any factory service bulletins on them? I am looking to "upgrade" and Walker is putting these in. Oneof the advantages is 40% less fuel consumption over the 25hp carb. model. Any thoughts? Thanks

My Brother in Law bought two walkers w/ this unit. He raves about it. Both units are coming up on 300 hours. The response is unbelievable and start quick everytime. I've got the 25 on my walker and have had no problems as I approach 100 hours. The 26 is a small upgrade in $$. Fuel filters maint. becomes a top priority as with any EFI engine. Let us know if you go with it.

Supposed to have 3 more useable horsepower in it's operating range.<p>I talked to a Walker dealer last month and he said Kohler is still working bugs out of the fuely engine. Some were the actual problems you mentioned Karl. My guess is that they are durable enough except for the roughest users. Owners that abuse the stuff, you know, run it through lakes, never change filters, leave them in the weather all the time, this is where they expect problems.

we have the FI 25hp on our new exmark 72 ,so far so good. the motor handles the 72 so i think it would work well on smaller units. i bought it because the 3000 hr life expectancy. only 2800 to go
