I agree with Sheshovel. When we edge beds it is clearly stated that we are not responsible for sprinkler pipes, heads, dog wires etc. Turns out that on one job the bed edger cut thru a pipe. I called out the homeowner, showed her that the person who installed it did not bury it deep enough (about 2" below grade) and reminder her that we were not responsible for it. However, it took 10 min to fix, which I did for free. The referrals have not stop from her.

On the other hand, the carelessness from the employee mentioned above is way above the normal standard. Good Luck.

..........I forgot to mention that he slid a 32in walk behind off the edge of the turf next to the lake and dropped it the 3 feet down into the water. Not able to get a truck into the backyard, we had to physically lift it out.

He's on his way out.........

I would take it out of there paycheck AFTER the verbal warning, then if that would not make them NOT do it anymore, then termination.

And let everybody else know why you cut them loose............$3-400 dollars is way outa line....I 1st thought that was a yearly cost of repairs.......when mine hit $150 over what I could repair, Changes had to be made!!!!....for me I got away from airation, & now only use slicers on a full renovation after the irragation has been flagged by the Home-Owner.[ we provide the flags].....I'd be more than mad

You admit your guys caused the damage. So yes you must eat it. Who else would be responsible?

not if they sign an indemnity agreement. do some research.

It's probably illegal to make them "pay for it", and even if it wasn't, to me it just isn't worth it to get them all mad when in the long run, I'll be saving money.........it's how I look at everyone that we "let go"
