When calculating hours from last year to project for this year, do you include estimating time as well. I figure when giving a landscape estimate you factor in that time. So for a topsoil job would you add the "estimate time" as well?

i would consider estimating time as part of your overhead expense. I include a standard overhead cost on every job I do. I figure this out from an average cost from previous history

We include estimating and planning time as part of the sales commision. This year the customer will be charged for design fee so that every design will be paid for by the customer who recieves the service. A credit will be given to them against the purchase of the installation, however an equivelent amount is already built in to the price, kinda the same as new car dealers and such that try to lead you believe that you are getting something for free.
