I'm going to find a voltage regulator and get this puppy going again. Thanks to restrorob and fixer67 for all their help in analyzing the problem.

Ordered a voltage regulator from RCPW.com on the 30th and received it on Friday. That was the problem. Before I was only getting battery voltage when running but now I get from 13.5 to 14 volts. Thanks guys for your help. That tip about the AC voltage from the alternator was very good.
