Tractor mounted seeder

I'm looking to buy a new tractor mounted seeder for large areas. Does anyone make a seeder that can be used for overseeding and as a primary seeder? Looks like if you picked up the knives and didn't run the pto the machine could be used in worked dirt as a primary. Anyone using the same machine in both conditions?
