I am surprised that no one has used those trees for energy. We rigged up a wood chipper that runs on chipped trees! Took it to an apartment complex that we maintained and had a big pile of trees to dispose of. The first batch was chipped using propane, then each succeeding pile was fueled by the leftover chips. Even after all was done there was about 2 cubic yards of chips left. They made a really great mulch around the entrance walkway from our parking lot. If anyone's in the south florida area and needs a good laugh I can make the same setup again if you want.
