Stone Fountain/ Creek Bed

I'm looking at doing a natural stone with a hole drilled through the top to bottom that runs down to a pump, my goal is to have the water run up from the bottom of the stone, to run down off the top of the stone and end up into a dry creek rock bed to recycle in a hidden pool. any ideas or tips?

use a small plastic tub (like youd find home depot for mixing concrete or thin set in) and place a cement block and your natural stone ontop of the block. then cover with a grate of some sort and put your "River rock" around the grate. and whalla... you have yoru fountain.
