working on shorts

how do u guys that work on shorts protect ur shins?

I do and i was thinking to start using this shin guards(this ones are to play softball) and I like any opinions about how do u guys protect ur self against rocks and debris when using the weed eater.

I wear pants if I know i'll be bushhogwacking. however for weekly maint. I stick it out with shorts usually. Sometimes I use shorts/pants, the ones that zip at the knee, I will open them up at the knee to let them breath, but they still protect your legs.

Jeans seem to stop most of the bleeding for me.

Before I knew better, I used a brush cutter on 13 lots. I wore shorts that day - shins looked like hamburger and so did my forearms and biceps.

Wouldnt recommend them for use while running a chainsaw but for a trimmer they do the trick

If you are going to cover your legs with shin guards why not just wear pants? Loose fitting dickies work well.

I sweat to much, is very uncomfortable around the legs,(private areas)
and wen I start to get all wet because sweating to much, my pants start to grap to my legs,don't like jeans because that.

I use the chaps by W.E.Chapps. They work well, but contrary to what I thought for a long time, there IS a difference between the right and the left. If I put them on a certain way, they tend to twist and sag. If I wrap them the other way, (to the outside), the stay on just fine. The shinguard things for sports seem like they would be real hot. The thing about the chaps is that they wrap around and fasten quickly with velcro.

I spend about 2-3 hrs trimmming the rest of the time is on the mower or behind the windshield
I tried going with long pants It just gets too hot for me
