06 Ford F350 6.0 ??
Im thinking of buying an '06 F350 for the end of the year "deals". Im looking at a 6.0 Diesel and I know they have had quite a few problems when they first came out. Do any of you guys have one of these? If so,how do you like it? Problems?I know theres a new motor coming out,but I hear it needs the new fuel too? Im looking for a standard cab 6.0.
Thanks,Mark |

Ford seems to have worked out the majority of the problems with their 6.0 diesel. Might ask this question on www.thedieselstop.com and they can direct ya further. After the initial disaster they had I sure as hell wouldnt buy one but thats just me. I see more powerstrokes goin down the road than any other diesel.

if you can get the 7.3L diesel or the 5.9cummins the 6.0 is horrible they are doing away with it soon 7.3 has been around for the better part of a decade i personally own one and its got 273k on it and still goin stong
btw chevy diesel isnt the best eather |

o yea i forgot make sure if you buy a 7.3 make sure its a powerstoke it has eletronic injectors not the old style lift pump. they had probles with them the older 6.9 and 7.3 had their share of probles too they are known as the idi(in direct injection) they did come in turbo too but if you buy one make sure its a powerstroke 95 till 02 they made the 7.3 powerstoke
if you have any questions feel free to pm me i know alot about diesel |

The 6.0 liters took two years to get the bugs worked out, mostly injectors. They don't have problems with these engines any more than Dodge or Chevy has with their new engines. All three make a pretty good engine these days. Chevy still has the best auto trans.

I have had my 6.0L since 42,000. It has 63,000 miles on it now and has plenty of power, awesome mileage, and really scoots when you lay it down. I installed 4 inch turbo back exhaust and I cant say enough good things about it. I'm adding a second truck next year and it will probably be a 2002 Dodge 3500 Dually Cummins. The GM Duramax's are awesome engines also. But as for the 6.0 PSD, dont hesitate. Awesome engine, just make sure the manufacture date is after 04/2004.

The 6.0 has been the highest TSB bulletins of any auto ever made, number two is the 7.3. Tsb's are Technical service bulletins. (othrwise common problems) Go duramax or cummins.

I have an 04' 6.0 PSD just turned over 50K miles and I love it. No problems whatsoever. Preventative maintenance, just do it.
FWIW, I tow a 8 x 20 enclosed with about 8000 lbs in it daily and my Cat 257B several times per week. I drive it like I stole it too. Great truck.
